Updates to Steam have been released. The update will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. This release includes a number of very specific CPU and memory footprint optimizations brought over from the Half-Life 2: XBOX development codebase. The release also includes all of the engine groundwork to enable the Day of Defeat: Source launch that will happen Monday, September 26 at 3:00 PDT.

This update ruined my steam, all third party games won't work, CS:S won't work, and other games probably don't work.

@jman, you sure you downloaded the whole update, or does your steam still say it's working? If it's still working then no wonder you can't open up css or Half-Life 2.

error - could not find gameinfo.txt for - gmod, dystopia....

error - CS:S has been forced to close due to - poor coding

error - ZenMunky has smashed keyboard on desk - new one required...

No probs with CS or DM, but other mods are ****ed. However, it did bump up my reccomended settings (which is also nice) and I got a good 7-10fps higher in css.

The greatest screen of my life. I'm pretty psyched for HDR in DOD

we're missing the detail.vbsp and lights.rad from dod: source, which apparently are essential for compiling, and because they're encoded I doubt we'll be getting our hands on them until monday.

What could be the issue is that they may be updating the HL2 engine, which may be causing errors with the games currently. My css stays at "loading" for a very long time. I guess ill try for 5 minuits then just stop.
