I found the problem.

Was on my end. The update had n settings and my firewall was blocking all the source games. Fixed now.

i remmeber when my firewall randomly blocked msn for some reason...

That's what steam support said to do in their faqs about this problem

Hurm, all this firewall unblocking is makeing me think that this last update was more about Steam2 than HDR but i dnot know
