Hidden: Source Beta 2 Released

The Hidden Source Team have recently released Beta 2 of the Hidden Source, you may recall the recent exclusive preview that interlopers got the privelidge of writing, well now you can try it out for yourselves, there are currently two mirrors and the team are welcome to accept more hosts.

**Update**

There has been a small client update to get rid of the server crashes and some minor coding tune ups

Changelog:
"- Fixed several server crashes, tested stable under extreme conditions for several hours
- Removed the self illumination from the IRIS Torso to stop the water aura effect
- Flipped the values of mp_friendlyfire so they're more "standard"
- The tutorial levels now automatically set sv_lan to 1
- changed the pistol sound effects
- Reworked multiple maps, removing excess entities to help server stability."

Gonna have to correct you there. Pretty much 90& of the textures used in Hidden:Source Beta 2 are now custom. That includes all the futuristic Doom3 style textures. I should know, I painted them. =)

I just tryed it. Im quite dissapointed with it. My game lagged like shite. The models were really laggy when picking them up and the tutorial was damn hard i couldnt get up the laddder either.

Getting up the shaft was hard at first, but it's easy once you get the hang of it. Just make sure you look directly at the surface you are trying to cling to.

I know that but I dont know how to jump to others cause once I turn around I fall. And half the servers have different maps ffs. And also the font sorta sucks cause I can barly read some of the stuff its all close together and all. I hope they sort it out cause I love hidden!

Sadly I think this beta is fatally flawed, a lot of people reporting the same server crash errors:

Its too bad cause this release was looking very promising. I was really hoping this release was going to put these guys on the map.
