right, but the errors fixed seem to have made many more. And the beta isnt necisary in the name, obviously if it were a beta, it would have only had 1 public version.

Im just saying its pretty bad that the game is still bugged, and i hate the Shotgun model.

Even though the game is buggy and tends to crash a lot the game is really fun. It has an excellent atmosphere and it keeps you on your toes. It is always funny when people start shooting at nothing. I was shooting at steam coming through the sewers hinking I saw 617.
Their first album was better.

The thing is that when I played the pre-release version there were no crashes et al.

I have a feeling that the test servers were based on windows though, and the problems are coming from linux based servers.

Right, but has anybody noticed that the collision of physics objects with you is really bad. For example, jumping off the car in derelict makes you jump very very high. and jumping on the boxes in... that one map with all the boxes makes you jump very slowly and staggery.

"There have been issues with the new beta, mostly strange crashes. This results when more than 1024 entities are used in a map. Normally, this wouldn't be a problem, but since the ragdoll gibbing system adds about 10 gibs for each pigsticked kill, it can crash very easily. The Development team is now aware of this issue, and are starting to work on a patch to fix this. Sorry for any inconviniences. "

The dev team are aware of what makes the crashes, a fix should be out soon aswell, some "entity optimised" maps have just appeared in the special forum for whipping over.

That's a shame, I bet it will limit them no end, but really something the coders should of known about, not least the playtesters witness it.

I like it!

DOesnt seemt oo buggy with me, i think 1 of 5 servers crashed. I cant get up the elevator shaft though, ive tried for ages :(

Picking up objects is very buggy, and pinning them to walls i extremely hard!

its going in the right direction though, when its fully complete, it should be fantastic :D

There is now a patch for Beta 2. I haven't got it yet, but I'm sure it fixes most of the problems.

There has been a small client update to get rid of the server crashes and some minor coding tune ups

Changelog:
"- Fixed several server crashes, tested stable under extreme conditions for several hours
- Removed the self illumination from the IRIS Torso to stop the water aura effect
- Flipped the values of mp_friendlyfire so they're more "standard"
- The tutorial levels now automatically set sv_lan to 1
- changed the pistol sound effects
- Reworked multiple maps, removing excess entities to help server stability.

Yeah guys, we basically stayed up all weekend getting this fix out, so I'll encourage everyone to download it and give Beta 2 another go, please =)

And Yokai, why are you slamming us so bad? You obviously don't seem to enjoy the mod (which is fair enough if it isn't your cup of tea) but why be a little raincloud determined to piss on every detail. Remember this is free content. You're not forced to pay or play it.

I think Yokai just attempts to piss on every fire, the mod was good for me.

Im sorry, but i really dont like mods that dont work properly. When i downloaded the patch and it still had the shotgun animation cutout that it did last beta. (I also pointedthat out with a demo.) the servers are laggy but that may just be because of my location.

Just played it today and thought it was great, reminded me of AVP2 MP!!!

Those flags in the mannor map are awesome btw is that a custom vmt or an animated model? Either way good job.
