Neo-Tokyo Relaunch

Postby wiggle987 on Tue Oct 18, 2005 7:34 pm

The folks behind the popular Ut2004 mod Neo-Tokyo have relaunched their site, you may remember earlier this year the neotokyo folks released the "R8 HDR Bloom" mod and also some screenshots of their mod so far, but until recently have been very quiet.

You can check out their site at http://www.neotokyohq.com/ and some additional media from one of their modellers' sites which can be viewed here.

Nice models, but those levels look a bit bland.

Map looks rather bleak and dull - but ooh, loving the hand models. :P

there modeller is very, very good.

But the maps are like, way to bland.

And I don't think the road texture the used fits well.

I'd say those images were showcasing the models more then the maps.

"approximately 30 years in the future"

http://www.neotokyohq.com/

I honestly dont think it looks like tokyo will 30 years in the future but it says it takes place in "fictionalized Tokyo".

then personally i think they would have been better if they had made a simple hollow box textured with the dev textures or something and done a simple lighting set up. but, maybe thats just me.

Keep in mind that the map is just a sandbox map, and that the images were taken from the modeller's site, so I wouldn't be so quick to judge on the maps.

The Team has done an amzing job on the game itsself besides the maps. The maps were non mapper attempts on the team just to showcase there other work like Blonk had said. They are looking for quailty mappers though!
