Steam Update News

Postby InvestmentBanking on Fri Oct 21, 2005 11:47 pm

Valve posted news today about their upcoming addition to Half-Life 2, known as "Lost Coast".

"Our current plan is to release Half-Life 2: Lost Coast next week. Lost Coast is a free level for everyone who owns Half-Life 2, and serves as an HDR technology demo based in an unreleased section of the "Highway 17" chapter of Half-Life 2.

After Lost Coast is released, we'll be working on getting some new content for both Counter-Strike: Source and Day of Defeat: Source, along with an update to the SDK, out the door. More info coming on that next week."

The news also talks about Black Widow Games' upcoming commercial modification called "They Hunger: Lost Souls" the sequel to their successful Half-Life 1 Mod "They Hunger."

Doesn't the SDK agreement (or some other agreement) say, you aren't allowed to earn money on your mod?

:(

The story before was that the Lost Coast release would come out at the same time as the SDK update for HDR etc...

The cs:s update will be out a year after the release of Lost Cost - Valve think soon means a long time.
