PMods have posted a lengthy interview with the guys working on NeoTokyo and it even has some nice media shots as well:
"[Pmods]Wraxe : Will the physical engine be only decorative or will it has a real influence on the gameplay ?
[NT]pushBAK : The physics engine will primarily be decorative, but we're hope to have gameplay situations that are physics dependent to add fun. So things like doors that need to be blown off their hinges, and things like boards that can be knocked over for use in crossing from one roof to the other, but can be shot or shoved away by the other team to eliminate that route to the objectives."
