Mapping and Modding Half-Life 2 Complete (Paperback)

Postby Blink on Thu Mar 02, 2006 1:08 am

You can now grab an informative book on everything you need to know about modding for HL2, this edition from Tim Holt should make life easier for those hoping to try a bit of everything:

"The book shows, step-by-step, how to create new maps, textures, characters, 3D objects, weapons, audio effects, game action, and much more. Readers will learn how to start out by creating new maps and models and then learn basic techniques of coding to create useful mods. The second part of the book features more advanced techniques as readers learn how to expand their skills and develop more sophisticated models and 3D action. The book also covers other important areas of mod development including creating and managing a mod development team, working with fans, and using skills to develop a professional career in game development."

It should be an interesting read for anyone involved in the mod scene, so be sure to drop by Amazon to get a copy.

That book has been listed on Amazon for over a year and they still don't have it yet. I myself tried to buy one ages ago and amazon ended up calling me and cancelling my order. No idea when it will be finished.. if ever.

Mapping and Modding Half-Life 2 Complete

Looks like it should show up around now! Those dates are never correct, could be another month, who knows!

You dont seriously think i dident know that?

I was wondering if anyone has seen or heard of him having anything to do with the gaming world other than his book.
