Interlopers Wip Texture Thread!

Postby Generalvivi on Sat Dec 30, 2006 11:27 am

They have one of these over at mapcore and i think interlopers should have one also . That way we can all post wips and stuff of our textures and get feed back.
i shall start this off .

Ive been playing around with textures a bit recently and i thought i would post some shots of stuff :)

Pretty good stuff.

1rst one: The normal needs to be more subtle.
2nd one: A little too saturated.
3rd one: I like it.

Flats are always nice to see...

The vanilla wall and the reworked red walls are really nice, you going to make versions without windows?

I agree with PhilE. I find that renders in max never really show what it will look like ingame (source wise).
So I try my normal maps and stuff ingame before I make a decision on them.
As for the rework that Hessi give you help with, its very good. but I would give more definition to the bricks around the window, but not too much. it just looks a tad flat atm.

nice work vivi, keep at it man.

edit: im just thinking, when I have been working with normals, I hate the plasticy rounded look it gets (reminds me too much of some Doom 3 engine games), try go for sharper depths when creating a normal.
Like in PS, Chisel Hard instead of smooth.

I need help.
It needs to be:
-Longer [about 2048x128 pixels]
-More realistic
-Transparent

I don't get how you guys make textures like the ones above. Photoshop? I can't afford it :S
