Something - Level Designer and Texture Artist

Postby Something on Sat Apr 07, 2007 4:52 pm

Hi, I am a 17 year old level designer and texture artist from Ohio. I first started to dabble in level design about 2 years ago. The fact that I could build my own little worlds completely blew me away. Currently I am doing personal work along with freelance.

Looking for Mod work: Maybe, depends on Mod.
Looking for Employment: Yes

I am not looking for any mod work, but I am trying to find any freelance work that is available. You can contact me via email at: Something1@earthlink.net or AIM: Something56561

A contest map for the environmental artist position for Arkane Studios. I placed in the top 5 maps they received and quite possibly might have a job with them out of high school.

Another one of my interloper's battles turned into a full fledged map. I am quite pleased with the results.

Textures

I use real life photos that are from a variety of photo sites. I am currently learning to make them from scratch.

I know for a fact you did not create most of those textures. You took some that were already tileable and sharpened them.

Oh, and GO BUCKEYES! (to bad we lost both championships to Florida)

Well, you are correct that I did not create them from scratch. I used various texture sites to create them. Sorry, I forgot to add that. I'll do it now. Though I did edit them to make them tillable. Some were easier than others.

Very nice Portfolio. It seems you have a nice eye for lighting and some detail :). Can't wait for your mod to come out :)

p.s.Ill have to agree with Phil on this. I noticed some of those from Cgtextures . Especially the tile one cause we made a texture out of that for hr :P
