Rambo 4

Postby Angry Beaver on Fri Jan 25, 2008 9:23 pm

Well I'm probably biased (being dedicated enough to go to a 7 hour marathon of rambo 1-3 and a prescreening of 4) but I went to see the new Rambo movie last night and it was pretty epic. Plotwise, so so. but hey its rambo, i'm watching for the action not the plot XD.

I advise anyone who even liked or found the first movies entertaining (not neccersarily good) to go see the fourth, its not for the faint of heart!

(And yes I did Ninja Edit this topic to the right place after I put it in the wrong forum XD)

Well like you Mr.Beaver I ma also biased enough to do a marathon of 1-3, catch the new one on openign night, and dress up like rambo for the occasion.

I liked it, very good, there were jsut a few jarring differences from the others that threw me off at first.
1) in the old ones rambo kills no one else does, in this one there are the prolonged massacre scenes. And althogh this did throw me off i think it justified rambos killings better than all lthe other movies before
2) Rambo isn't the only mega badd ass in this one, theres the mercs, but i like them

I loved it, id probably see it again if i werent so cheap

I really want to watch this one, I mean even if it's not a great action film, it could be great comedy so... yeah.

I liked it a lot as well, but I think it was way too short. They didn't allow themselves enough time to show Rambo slowly breaking out of his apathetic view of the world and deciding to help out -- it just sort of happened all of a sudden. His character changed too much too quickly. But the action was great. 50 cals really make a mess of things.

I sure hope I'm in as good a shape as Stallone when I'm his age. Jeez.

Anyway, I wish I could go see it. I was supposed to see I Am Legend but we NEVER got around to it. Then I was later told the ending killed the movie so I never went to see it. I want to see this and Cloverfield badly though. Hopefully I can get around to it.

I've read alot of bad stuff about cloverfield, but nothing bad about Rambo.I think the movie was really great (it got higher rating than the first movie in imdb!).
Sure it was pretty short, but the action was really great - this movie is b r u t a l. The entire concept of Rambo4 reminded me of the action movies from the 80's, but the effects was created using some of the latest technology available. The plot was exceptionally good for an action movie - there was no russian or arab guys! I've read somewhere that the movie is forbidden in Myanmar, also the local people who participated in the filming was arrested.Maybe the plot isnt that far away from the reality :P
Also check out this chart :)
