I'll have to say it's real, that's definitely filmed in Thailand, we have plenty of those painting elephants. (and I would know since I'm from Thailand -_-) I've been to one of these painting sessions, they usually auction off the paintings afterwards.

That is incredible, surely scientists could use these to like find out how animals perceive the world an what not.

I've been thinking so long about this and my conclusion: It's real. There are a gazillion "painting elephant" videos on yourtube + tourist reports claiming it's real. Some of the videos show angles that wouldn't even be possible with the best CGI/arm-in-fake-trunk trickery. Although I wouldn't be surprised if I read news about how the elephant video fooled thousands of people on youtube... I don't know.

I've seen painting elephants before on the news, definitely real. They paint of the own volition too apparently, but what I've seen before was never a "picture," but more just random colors on canvas. I wonder if the elephant decided to paint an elephant, or if it was trained to?
