Holy fucking mother of god. Those models are absolutely fuckin top notch. Not to mention your up-to-date on the whole high res model baked into normal map, then applied to low model.

I must know, where did you learn to model?

Thanks guys! And ghost I basically learnt to model from looking at tutorial videos and forum posts alongside my uni course. Once you get to grips with a foundation modelling software like max, maya or milkshake, where you can practically model anything then you want to move onto Zbrush or Mudbox where you can take it to the next level of detail.

There's plenty of books/dvds (check out the gnomon dvds)/online videos (zbrushcentral) of how to learn those - and they are really simple and easy with a little patience. It's like sketching a picture once you get used to it, and really fun if you like that kind of stuff.

By the looks of your models, I have to say you used....

Zbrush?

They're quite detailed and very well-done. Zbrush has to be one of the most versatile modeling programs I've laid eyes on, but for rigging and such, it's not meant for, but you can always import and export. :)

Anyway, I forgot you were the one who made that crazy grocery store hl2 mod. That was funny with the pizza saw blades and such, clever idea. Your other maps are pretty well done, but you should add your updates to your first post for better representation.

I use Zbrush for a lot of things alongside Max. I'm constantly jumping back and forth between them, probably about 50/50

That's probably because it's a sculpting app not a general-purpose 3d app like max or maya. Nice work dude, I remember seeing the dark knight on GA.net really nice stuff. I actually applied to staffordshire uni last year- they sent me a letter basically saying DENIED but mentioned that I should work on my portfolio (which they didn't even ask to see) and apply next year. I laughed.
