Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of The Crystal Skull

Postby xoqolatl on Wed May 21, 2008 9:13 pm

The movie is good. It's not that I liked every single thing about it, but it does not ruin the Indiana Jones as we know him.

Please tell me what you think of it, and no spoilers please!

Side note: I was aware that Polish dubbing sucks, but I didn't know until now that subtitles can suck, too.

I haven't seen it yet, but I did watch that documentary on the real crystal skulls. I found it pretty interesting, so I'm gonna watch the movie soon. Plus its got the guy from Transformers and Disturbia in it.

Saw it yesterday, (when it released) and there were only like 20 people in the hall...(because everyone had to work  )
The film was good, amusing but sometimes you were really thinking WTF I know that they exaggerate a lot in these movies but this time it was a bit too much for example, driving with a tank, full speed towards a cliff, the tank rides in the cliff, but instead of directly falling in the water they get lucky and the tank rides on a branch, it simultaneously bends all the way down so that they have a soft and gentle landing in the water and they drive on, another example: THEY SURVIVED THREE HUGE WATERFALLS -> WTF?
But I recommend this movie to anyone who liked the previous Indiana Jones movies!

But when you think about it, previous Indiana Jones movies also had such situations, and they looked all right there.

This movie is totally awesome if you're in the right mood. My suggestion:

Leave all reason at the door and just go and have a great laugh. Mostly you will be laughing at the sheer balls out over the topness of the movie.

The best part ever in an Indiana movie is when the old guy scared some seagulls with an umbrella and as they flew away they took down a plane. I never laughed that hard in awhile.

Seein' this tomorrow (friday) with a few friends. I generally don't like Hollywood movies so I don't know what I'll expect. Sounds to me as though they didn't higher anybody to re-do the old Indiana soundtrack and just stuck the old sound quality theme song in there and expected it to fly.

Saw it last night, thought it was just like the other Indy films: i.e. awesome. It's good to watch a film that you can just enjoy once in a while. I'd place a wager than that kid from Transformers will take over the franchise now though...

Also, for people that haven't been yet, look out for Janitor from Scrubs

I heard they didn't use any stuntmen for this movie. It was all done by the actors themselves. Pretty good considering the guy playing Indiana Jones is like 60+.

The janitor from Scrubs was in it, woo.

I found it surprisingly disappointing. To me, it was painfully obvious that George Lucas wrote the last half of the script. I saw it with a friend who made a prediction about ewoks, and sure enough... those monkeys were basically ewoks. The movie, Including the diologue, was downhill from there. I left the theater wondering if I had just seen Indy 4 or X-Files 2.
Although the last effects shot (you'll know it when you see it) had me shitting bricks, wanting to know how it was made. The movie looked fucking spectacular, but just as with everything else George Lucas gets his hands on, it left me with a bad taste in my mouth.
At least it didn't have Jar-Jar.
i had fun once, and it was awful.
