It's not that I don't like using photos for textures, I just think that people shouldn't use sites, and instead just grab your camera and head to the urban center.

Also, I find creating textures by hand can be very quick. And seriously, I'll help you learn how to create them by hand if you want. What chat program do you use?

True, own reference photos are always good, but there is no shame in using a famous site as CGtextures. The trick is to make it your own by editing it very much. And not just using 1 of the photos in example. You can use 30 and get a texture out of it (just to make a point).

But you still have to edit a texture anyways, b/c a real real real life image texture would look fake in source, b/c source is far from realistic. In crysis you could make a texture straight from real life, but source has it's own touch.

[/bla bla]
You click on Build or type
make (or some equivalent), and you are astonished, then mortified, as you realize that the whole world is being
recompiled and relinked!

Excellent stuff. I like the direction you're going with the Zombie Panic map and I hope you are still working on the single player map for Episode 2.

Oh, so you made that map! Sucks it wasn't picked 1st place, I personally found it the most interesting environment wise.

Was it used as a default though?
