I saw it today, and I think it was a pretty fucking awesome movie. Some things made no sende, like where the hell those motherfuckers with skeleton masks at the beginning came from, but that's like watching Independence Day and asking where the aliens really came from; no one really cares. And no one can survive a nuclear blast inside a fridge. Seriously. But it's darn cool to watch. It's Indiana Jones, either you hate it, or you love it. I'm one of those who love it.

I'll give it a 9/10. The only reason I won't give it a 10/10 is because... Oh what the hell, I'll give it a 10/10, it was fucking brilliant.

Oh, and where was the Janitor? I couldn't spot him..

Blu-ray makes me sad, downloading burnable quality DVD's is going to take forever now because Blu-ray's are something like 36gigs per disc? Absolutely ridiculous.

50GB per double layer disc, 25gb for single layer.
But let me tell you something, once you watch a good movie in full hd quality (1920x1080) with good sound, you will never go back to DVD quality (which, may I remind you, is 768x576, almost 5 times less pixels).

HD-DVD suits me fine. Hell, regular DVD suits me fine. The quality provided by Blu-ray is just unnecessary for most TV's. Our family has a home projection system (8'4" diagonal, ftw) and HD-DVD looks fantastic on it. There is no reason, in my opinion, to go over to Blu-ray.

Also.... the movie was alright. As some have said before me, some things were just over the top. I mean sure, it might be cool to watch, but for me too much over dramatisation just kind of breaks the immersion. I think its a general trend in movies (hollywood anyways) today, to over do everything, over dramatise everything. Not everything needs to explode for the movie to be cool etc.

The blast and radiation is not that weird, but the shockwave sending the fridge flying... he should be ketchup, not to mention that acceleration should kill him...


But Undead Caesar, HD-DVD provides the same resolution, only with a little bit less quality (because the discs are smaller and compression is different.
My dad bought himself a 37" Sharp LCD TV and it's sexy as hell finally I have some use for that 50gb ISO image of Casino Royale...

Ok I saw it.

So basically, George Lucas has once again tried to ruin a good franchise (like Star Wars) by making a stupid over the top exploitation with next-gen graphics. BUT!!! Thankfully Steven Spielburg and Harrison Ford were there to mitigate his stupidity.

The action was good, the sfx were good, even the kid was suprisingly good.

But it isn't Indiana Jones, it doesn't live up to the name or the style.

Aliens, kid with whats-her-face, wedding.....wtf. Lucas, your an idiot. Though I suppose aliens were the only way to top the fucking holy grail, you really, really, really, can't top the holy grail, and shouldn't have tried

When you go see this, pretend it isn't an Indiana Jones movie and everything should be ok.e

I thought it fell pretty well into the consept of Indy movies. The flow of the story felt like an indy movie, the only thing that made it far different from the original was the "sci-fi" angle as opposed to a more "supernatural" one. I personally think what made the first and third ones so good was the use of real world relics. Temple of doom was 100% fiction, but crystal skull at least use a reference to Elderado and the city of gold.

I do agree with you that it was over the top, and the cast did a good job with the material. But I think it was not a total departure from the original formula which made the francise so successful.

It was good but, if you think about it all the other Indiana Jones movies have been about religion (holy grail, ark of the covenant, etc.) and in this movie...

...which I think was a little bit like a off-topic post *cough* Blu-Ray vs. HD-DVD *cough*.

Bottom line is that it was good and was a little like Indiana Jones but, was less plausible (well sort of) and was just not exactly an Indiana Jones movie.

Yeah, I saw the movie, it was awesome !! Lots of comedy.
Best Indiana Jones movie imho, although some things were exagarated.... like the fridge part mentioned earlier
I loved the creativity of all the secrets and boobytraps, and the special-effects were outstanding, especially the final part when the ocean flooded the hole

I give it a 4 out of 5 because of the aliens...
