aus, you might want to change the skins of those combine soldiers too, not the elite but the others kind of blend into the background.

Just started mine yesterday so I better get cracking, here are two WIPs.

I've nearly got the streetlights how I want them, and there's some work needed to the textures on the buildings. I', going for a brooklyn residential street kind of theme (with the help of google street view) but some feedback would be nice.

(This is my first attempt at mapping in about half a year so I'm kinda re-learning).

Blekk

EDIT: just looking at the screenshots, I think I might have too many streetlights, I think I'll get rid of every other streetlight on each side, cutting the amount in half.

Hah, well it'll be coming in due time, I've got 2 very different ideas for that same street, it all depends on which one i can portray the best...without needed loads of custom models etc.

If we map in L4D (allowed right?), what do we have to turn of?

Finally decided to enter one of these map battles. This is still WIP, especially the interior foreground. There will probably be a wounded US soldier hiding in the bunker, awaiting his inevitable demise.

Crowbar, yours is, well, ordinary. It's a good idea, and excellently made, but there's nothing there that jumps out at me. Your interpretation of the theme is, dare I say it, just not very interesting. I may be alone in this, but I just think you need to make it a little more original; not outlandish stupid, just toss in some imagination. It's got potential.

IMUS, your colour correction is balls. Sort out the blue.

meh, I would disagree with rotinaj. while one can easily put together the scene "an american hiding from incoming germans" that does not mean it lacks originality or decreases the value of the scene. I actually am impressed so far of the map, but like you said, the interior could use some work. I like the use of depth, with the germans in the distance.

I would add the following to your scene:
Trench wood on the side, holding in place the trenches
Trench floor planks(more), it gets rather muddy in a trench, especially during the winter so you can actually make the ground muddy instead of snowy to show people have been running through the trench back and forth
Adding the american would help the scene come together
Perhaps get into some detail, show spent casings on the ground and maybe some blood decals by the fallen american in the trench.
For the interior, you can add some warm lighting to counter the cool outdoors.
I also see a hedgehog tank trap that is floating as it would appear.
Add in the distance a smokestack from maybe a blown up tank or building
I dont think that lamp in there fits really, thats more of a household lamp.
When you add an american in that trench dugout, I would add a BAR/Garand standing next to him that has empty magazines/clips, so that it shows he is all out of ammo
A slightly desaturated CC with a hint of blue since its the winter.

There is plenty you could add to the scene to make it more appealing and have a deeper backstory.
