Another 3dsmax import/export question

Postby 2007CA on Sun Nov 07, 2010 9:05 pm

Trying to edit one of Valve's stair handrail models to fit my geometry better, I brought the .smd into Max. Deleted a lot of the model, and moved the pivot to be closer to what was left. Then I exported thinking everything was fine. But later I brought the exported .smd back into Max, and like every .smd I've had to import, it had a bone in it now. That bone, however, was in the completely wrong place (the center of the old model not the new one.) Is this anything to be concerned about?

For a static prop (not animated) it doesn't matter one bit where the bone is. You can delete the bone and the exporter will make a new one for you.
