Some of mine arn't working, but some are.

Has anyone worked out how you link the level start finish instance to the entrance and exit lifts?
That's what she said.

I tried running the tools last night and I am on Windows XP. Didn't run for me. So I guess they haven't fixed that issue yet, hopefully soon. Or is there a fix to get it run on XP?

Man I opened this up last night to actually try to make some things, and to map for Portal or Portal 2 is totally different from any other game. I could not imagine mapping on the fly for these games. I closed it after a few minutes and grabbed a pencil and paper.

well, I never mapped for it either.. but I could imagine you could just let your fantasy go and do it's thing because you don't have to make realistic looking architecture and such :)

Well yeah, that part is the easy part. Coming up with puzzles is what needs to be planned out. Doing that on the fly is not as easy. At least not for me.

I think Valve is taunting me by leaving the post-processing entities in the FDG but completely non-functional in game. I want me sweet effects :<

no doubt, maybe getting your self familiar with element first by just trowing them into a map and look at the possibilities will help?

ive been drawing up plans for the last 2 months. i dont even know if half of them work or if they are exploitable in any way but i have really been going nuts...upside-down repulsion gel puzzles, zero gravity (dead space remake?), laser beam splitters, explosives, laser walls, propulsion gel on cubes (bowling mini-game, anyone?)...all kinds of crazy stuff.

of course...its all on paper. i have yet to start building anything in hammer. I'd like to wait for the non-beta version.

I really hope valve releases the P-Body, and Atlas Rigs (also panels, but they can easily be reconstructed). I wanna make some dance moves.

I'm really digging these panels and instances.

Anyone know how to get the floor buttons to work with boxes?

Also, models seem to apply a random animation after you exit the properties window, about 50% of the time. I reallly hope this get patched soon, I'd be able to make panel instances in about half the time if I didn't have to fight with the in-hammer models >:(

@Joe, I've started drafting my own maps, too :) I can't wait to get them into hammer
