Re-texturing NPCs Problem...

Hey pplz,

I am trying to learn how to obtain the files to re-texture the NPCs in game. I have tried GCF Scape, but when I drag em to a folder on my desktop I get the following error:

" Error writing C:\Users\Bubba\Desktop\Combine_soldier\combinesoldiersheet_prisonguard.vtf (Error: Unexpected end of GCF stream (0 B of 1398320 B). Has the GCF file been completely acquired?) "

It shows the files on my desktop, but nothing is actually in the file.

Any ideas as to how I can get the texture file??

You should selected it and right-mouse click and click extract.

I did... the same problem still occured

looks like the package you are extracting from isn't fully downloaded, try deleting local cache files (right click the relevant game in your library) and then run the game. Then try to extract again. I also found that sometimes it just wouldn't extract because it's a dick. See if you can find the item in a different package.

Weird, I'm trying to edit combine skins... I have the game installed and played through it like a week ago.... but I'll try what you recommend.
