Forza Horizon

Postby Hollow on Mon Mar 05, 2012 3:19 pm

I can now officially say I am working on:
Forza Horizon

(I know it leaked all over the web on the weekend lol)
Bare in mind this is merely a tone trailer, can't say anything else other than that for the time being.
Also ignore the obviously placeholder logo :P

I'll keep you informed as more news gets announced!

The graphics could be better.

Really though I'm excited that you get to work on a big title. I've never played a Forza game, but I'm looking forward to see the kinda stuff that you got to make.

Finally I can comment :O

This looks like some kind of freeroam street race maybe? Would be such an awesome way to kick the crap out of NFS for making such crap in the last few releases

One Word Difference.
When I saw the news of the trailer I didn't bother watching, but I had my suspicions.

I actually think limitation is good for creativity. If we had an engine that could do everything, we would be in trouble. It gives us focus. ~~ Randy Lundeen

This is the very first time afaik.
They trust the pedigree of our studio, even though it's a startup, given the background a lot of the staff came from (Codemasters - GRID, DIRT 2 era, Bizarre Creations - PGR series, Black Rock, Criterion etc).

Unfortunately the UK scene for racing studios is pretty fractured at the moment and we've managed to take the best bits from those companies that went under.

Edit: Ahahaha Nick, You were almost right :P

Yeah last year hit a lot of companies pretty hard, I guess it's good that some people have reformed into new teams but I hear a lot of people went overseas to find new work.

Mind if I ask if you know of any places hiring right now? :P

Just in the UK? I can ask around later this evening if you want! I would say apply here, but we've finished our hiring completely now :/

That would be fantastic if you could ask around! Ideally I'm looking for work in the UK, the idea of moving to another country (especially in the Eurozone) seems quite daunting.

Time I got on with redoing my CV on Wordpress.

Haha. Spot on!
He actually made a in-house version, which was miles better (imho). But Microsoft had to re-make it as it wasn't liscensed footage, just something he whipped up to convey the tone :)

Yeah, Lee said you couldn't handle staying there once he left haha. I also had a drink with Aaron (irish guy) from codies a few nights ago with some of the other PG staff, he's a pretty cool guy!
