They say real time, but that doesn't really impress me unless the hardware is practical. All of this could of been done before, but why bother if you the only people able to play the game at this level are those with four(crossfire/SLI) top-of-the-line GPU cards and overclocked eight-core i7's.

If this is running on a single $300 GPU and a i5 or something, then I'm really impressed.

Not saying it doesn't look good, cause it looks awesome. Loving the realtime radiosity/GI and deep shadow maps.

I think they said it ran on a i7 and a single GTX 690, might have been a GTX 680 but don't quote me on that.

I hope that's input smoothing, and not input lag in that developer video.

I was certainly impressed, can't wait to see some devs really pushing the capabilities. Personally i just want the tools now as the new UI looks much better than the old one!

That can't be Source. I love Valve.

The engine does looks very good and hopefully the art pipeline is just as easy as it is now. I lol'd when GTTV put in Alien Swarm footage. :P

That really does look great. Hopefully Source will get this kind of performance when Valve releases their major upgrade with the next Half-Life installment, I mean...

What I noticed is that they've taken a lot from Unity's User Interface and input component system & applied it to theirs. Which is a good thing mind you, meaning it's much more straight forward. I loved that you could edit code and whilst in game , let it compile the solution and it updates the game with the applied changes in real time,

Can't wait to get my hands on it.

Dying to get my hands on it as well. and work flow in UDK is ALWAYS. I mean always straight forward and simple. Never have problems importing things, this should make it even faster.

What a good time for me to read this thread, joe. I use blender. And for modelling for UDK, no less. It comes with its own .fbx plugin which exports fully featured models to UDK. As for "poor man's" It can do anything the industry greats can do (at least in the limited context of game modelling).

And about the thread subject, I'm pretty sure we won't be seeing this tech in a UDK format for quite a while. For one thing it's still under development for the licensed consumer base. An epic bro on the unreal forums said it will be coming out, but not for a while yet.

Here are the gaming rig specs that ran the demo:

The UE4 demo is running on PC, specifically an Intel Core i7 processor with an NVIDIA GTX680 and 16GB of RAM - what Epic terms a standard development box.

I regretfully retract this statement. Blender can't do this.
