Jam Bands

So, whats your opinion? Are jam bands tools of the Hippie scum? Or do 30 minute hammond organ solos float your boat?

my musical mood changes on an hourly basis, so i've got some GD on my ipod. I have alot of respect for jerry garcia. plus, his guitar is beautiful.

Syd Barrett's guitar was pretty sweet too. It was a silver telecaster/stratocaster... whichever one of those is an actual guitar (i'm not a guitar guy) and it had mirrored disks embedded in the body so the stage lights would reflect out into the audience... i'm not sure but it may have had that CD rainbow effect in the disks. I've never found any good pictures of it but the descriptions of people who saw it sounded like the guitar was almost an entity in itself.
