Spiral Stairs
Spiral stairs are very easy to make. All you need to make the stairs with is the arch tool. If you’re not sure how to use the arch tool yet I recommend you look at this tutorial before proceeding.
Arch Tool Tutorial
First start off by setting up the block that represents the area of the arch that will be created. You can see in this picture that my block is only 16 units high. It should only be about 16 units high because each step in the staircase will be the same height as the block.
Now hit enter to bring up the Arch Properties window.
I recommend having the "Number of Sides" set to a number that is 16 or higher. You can see in the second picture that I have mine set to 20.
The "Arc" can be any number of degrees that you like. I have mine set to a full 360 degrees. If you’re going form one floor to the next, it would be a good idea to have a full spiral like mine. If you plan to go a shorter distance then you might want to consider setting the "Arc" to 180 degrees. Remember that the smaller your "Arc" is the smaller your steps will be. You will probably have to lower the "Number of Sides" if you’re decreasing the "Arc" number.
The "Add Height" option should be the same number as the height of the steps.
Now hit ok and you should have your spiral staircase.
