description
A very important skill, this tutorial takes you through the different aspects of texture alignment.
keywords
texture, textures, align, alignment.
Just a quick tut about a few tools in the Face Edit Sheet. You see them as little buttons that say L, R, B, C, T and Fit.
First, Select a face you want to align, then if you click on:
L = Align to Left
Will move the texture so the left edge of the texture meets the left edge of the face
R = Align to Right
Will move the texture so the right edge of the texture meets the right edge of the face
B = Align to Bottom
Will move the texture so the bottom edge of the texture meets the bottom edge of the face
T = Align to Top
Will move the texture so the top edge of the texture meets the top edge of the face
C = Align to Center
Will move the texture so the center of the texture meets the center of the face
Fit = Stretch and align to fit
Will center the texture and rescale it, so the face is filled with 1 of the texture

You'll also notice a little tick-box under these 6 buttons that says "Treat as one". This can be very useful when dealing with a group of faces. If you tick it, Hammer will consider the selected faces to be one face when aliging them, so if you click left, it will align all faces to the left edge of the very left face. Example:
