Map Battle 12: Futuristic Sci-Fi

Postby BaRRaKID on Tue Jun 13, 2006 6:39 pm

After a long stop, and i apologise to everyone for that, it's time for a new map battle.
This theme is one fo my favorites, if you played doom or quake, or saw the alien movies, you know what i'm talking about. For those who didn't, here are some images:

Altough this images only show corridors, you'r free to do what ever you like, as long as it fits in the theme, if you've doubts post here or send me a private message.
The rules are the following:

- Your map must be set in a futuristic fictional enviroment.

- You can only post 3 screenshots, and you can only submit one map.

- When posting your screenshots, always explain if they are final or still wip.

- Additional mods like bloom mod and garrys's mod CAN'T be used, only HL2, HL2DM, CS:S, DOD:S and Loast Coast (or any other official mod) are allowed.

- You can't use any extra software (like photoshop for example) to enhance your screenhosts. Of course usual changes like resizing, croping, or adding your name on the images are allowed.

- You can use custom content. When using costum content wich you did not made, make sure you have permission to use it.

- The maps are judged according to their visual quality, so make them look the best you can.

- The maps don't need to be playable.

- Avoid posting your pictures with big resolutions, since the forum resizes them, and they may loose some quality. Try 800x600 or 640x480

- Keep in the spirit of things and show off your work in progress shots.

The battle ends at the 4th of July(3 weeks this time), at midnight (24:00h) GMT

Good luck.

True. I just hope alot of people do something interesting apart from corridors with blue and red lights and pipes.

I'll be checking on people's work.

Probably safe to assume that you don't set the map next week.

"futuristic" technology compared to us even though we exist in the same timeline... :D

maybe that will spure some ideas.

I can see a serious overuse of combine models/textures on the horizon...
