Get that zip program that breaks a zip into multiple files and gmail it. I managed to get Macromedia's Fireworks via email, although.... Fireworks isn't quite 1.5 terabytes.... no not at all I suppose, but it's worth a try.
Hahhahhaha, oh wait your serious
Even trying to send a file even 40mb in size with gmail... doesn't quite like it very much....
(I Zipped 40 images into a 39mb ZIp file and after 45 retries and 2 and half hours of waiting it just would not send)Your talking 1250GB or 1,250,000MB... so no sorry, i don't think splitting them with Winzip and emailing them to yourself is an option, plus what if his upload speed is 30kbps or slower, according to my calculations that's roughly;
1,310,720,000 Kilobytes, @ roughly 30kB/ps
=
- 43690666 seconds to upload
- which is 728177 minutes
- which is 12136 hours
- which is 505 days straight of constantly uploading at 30kBps.
So no i don't think gmailing One Point Five Terabytes, not Gigabytes remember, Terabytes meaning thousands of gigabytes, i don't think gmailing them would be an option would you?
Don't get a zip program, get lots (and lots) of Dual Layer DVD's and burn your ass off.
Ever since DVD's starting being cheaper than water i've been backing up nearly all of my 1.75TB to disc over time, i wish Disc manufacturers would hurry up and release their super size discs on the market, they have already reached at least 500GB on a DVD so far, god knows what the future holds for discs.
If your interested in some reading, the Microholas project are doing interesting things with discs...

Even if it did, Hotmail or Yahoo or whatever email provider would of rejected it on the other end.
