It's certainly true that the Obama administration has brought back a lot of Clinton era hands, and the Clinton administration holds a lot of responsibility for the present economic crisis.

Personally I'll judge Obama retrospectively rather than prospectively. Words are one thing but deeds are another as Tony Blair so vacuously showed.

HEY! I know what we can do! I'm a really serious political man and a staunch opposer to Obama! I don't agree with what he's done. Oooo I know how I can get my highly intelligent points across! A shitty "satirical" cartoon on youtube about him being a Nazi.

And I refute everrrry serious point you try to make thus.

The cartoon was stupid no doubt and only makes us non-obamanites look worse; but the whole Obama mania thats been going on is utterly ridiculous.

@ The Wanderer, you can't talk about Government seriously, being a Belgian, look at Yves Leterme? Hehe (I'm only kidding ;) I agree with what you say)

Woe Kitten had it pretty much right, on our side of the pond we like Obama because he's bringing America kicking and screaming out of the dark ages, as it were, where they have no idea what's going on outside their country, and more importantly, don't seem to care. And before you defend yourselves, let me point out that is our view as Europeans, whether it is correct or not doesn't matter, it's just that that is why we like Obama, and that's about opinion.

And yes, it does worry me about them thinking he's God or something. But at least he hasn't rationalised his motives as being "told by God".

Oh don't worry. Most Americans are quite aware that the world hates us.

I think its a mix of jealousy and feelings of undeserving. People want "fairness."

What do they call that again? Oh right. Affirmative action.

No, its the cocky attitude and lack of careness towards the big, bad world, with a terrorrist in every nook and corner, that isn't USA.

You can thank the media and your government for this.

I wouldn't say soon - American media is distributed across the entire world. It would take something fairly major for that to be upset, especially in the aftermath of a recession.

And I have my doubts that average Americans would be complient with that, again, unless something fairly major happened.

Sorry to go all random, but I second the lol. Seriously, I dont mean to offend you, but I never met anyone *jealous* of the US, or americans.

on topic: Yes, he does talk alot. But whatever that means is only speculation. I dont think much will change anyways, it rarely does. Countries seldom suddenly change their agenda or behaviour just because the democratically chosen leader changes.
