Portal mod: The Projex

Postby daprato on Fri Mar 25, 2011 10:28 pm

Hi all, here is my Portal MOD: The Projex
http://www.theprojex.com
I did it in my spare time, more a skin rather than a real "code/scripts" modification. Tribute to this fabulous game.
For player that completed Portal 1.
Enjoy
C&C will be appreciate

Dude this looks epic, I love the art style, this could be a game all it's own.

I'm going to try it right now, that trailer looked so cool. :D

Just played it, was pretty cool, the last two puzzles were just overly hard. I really liked the style.

Whoa, I'll try this out in a bit. This is the most original portal style I've seen before. Very nice job! :D

I beat it, and it was pretty good.

Make it more obvious that you can get back to the turret room from the long hallway with the pressure pad thing, cuz you have to have a portal up near the ceiling of that room to see the ceiling of the turret room. I thought I was stuck.

I'm not sure if there was some sort of threat in the Cube-inspired section...? One of the rooms started shaking but nothing happened. I also wasn't sure which direction I was heading in. The blood in that one room isn't very ominous, it's just kind of there

Also, there were like 3 or 4 moments where I was surprised by turrets, but I just found it irritating and not surprising in some sort of thrilling way. The whole turret room part I found awkward. You walk into two turrets, and then if you put a portal on the ceiling you're surprised by two turrets you don't notice before you drop down and then another door opens with another turret inside it. It's too jarring.

It doesn't seem like the mod is finished visually, but you said it was a beta.

I like the rooms at the end, reminds me of that one movie, "Cube"? I was waiting to get impaled by spikes or something.

Overall the mod was interesting, I liked the art style, though some of the puzzles were rather difficult.
