Alright, here's an update :

I like it, the new lighting brings out the colors
I imagened it would be something like this when I first saw your wip:

a more urban environment but it fits in here just as nice

Yea, that's exactly what inspired me to create mine . I decided not to go with urban environment because it would distract attention from the main scene, I already have another, better idea, I beleive.

That does look nice, but the building looks a little misplaced. Perhaps some towers of the same theme around on some cliffs in the background? ^^

Hmmm, when I first saw Notary's entry I was pleasantly surprised and I also thought the surroundings would make or break the entry. For now I tend to think it's not what I expected, which would be an actual gate to a large complex of similarly interesting architecture. So for me the question that comes to mind regarding the theme is: a gate to what?

Well, alright. These are the gates to the rest of the structure, leading to the rest of the church complex, first of all. I could continue building walls around it to make a courtyard, but I didn't feel like, because this would break the style I was working so hard on. Since this has been inspired by St. Basil's Cathedral in Moscow, it has some religious theme in it, this could be a "barrier" between heaven and reality, where immortals come to the earth... One of my aims was to create something that would look weird compared to the rest of the world, something that looks like it wasn't built by the human hands, something that would contrast with the surroundings but also fit it and the gate completes the image pretty fine, leaving the viewer to think a bit what could be inside the complex and towers, up to imagination.
