Multiple textures?

Postby Keyser Soze on Thu Nov 11, 2004 9:55 pm

How do I apply multiple textures to a brush, in different areas? For instance, on my floor brush, or wall brushes. Also, how do I apply decals, like blood splatters to a certain area? And how do I create a background?

Select the texture on one face and then right click the other faces to apply the same texture with the same attributes, I assume it is the same as Hammer 3.5?

Yar. You'd be surprised at how little has changed.

Oh, sorry. Here's what I mean by multiple textures(I probably didn't know what I'm saying, there's probably technical terms for these things):

The difference between the floor tile texture and the texture on the other side of the doorway, are those seperate brushes, or something?

And by background, I mean, like in de_piranesi, the hills in the background. Are those skyboxes?

 new idea  you could had a section on the site where people would upload their vmf files instead of having to send them on msn to you..

Basic texture application as follows:

To give the whole brush the same texture select it then hit shift+a. Browse and choose your texture then hit apply. Or hit ctrl+a then shift+left click on the brush to select all the faces for texturing.

To give a specific side of the brush a texture hit ctrl+a and then simply select the face you want to have the texture and again Browse, choose and apply.

To give multiple faces a texture but not the whole brush hit ctrl+a then then ctrl+left click on the faces you want to apply the texture to. Than as befor Browse, choose and apply.

Hope this helps.
