They just talked about the iPod because it is the most popular mp3 player out there. When the fact is that this problem has been going on since the early days of walk man's and mini discs. No matter what type of headphone you are using, you should only keep it on full volume for a few songs at maximum, if you continue doing so it will just cause damage.

And everyone keeps cussing at the iPod earbuds here... but come on. Do you really think any set of standard earbuds that ships with any mp3 player is going to be so much better? If you want to get comfortable, you will always have to dish out extra money for proper headphones.

And if people want to buy an iPod, let them. It is their choiche, their money and their preference / opinion, so stop acting like fanboys ffs.
