ditto.

tool rock, plain an simple. People may not like the sound of it, it's not their thing etc etc, but they are masters at what they do. one of the better (not the best) bands of their type around today, and seeerious top-notch musicians.

danny carey is indeed The Beast, fuucking insane....the 46&2 drum solo is one of the best pieces of rock drumming i can think of, and watching that live clip of him playing it is just scary.

plus his kit's sweeet, so many customised or unique pieces, like the pentagrammed hexagonal v-drums..sweet

I can't say I'm a Tool 'fan' (that is, I don't own any of their CDs), but I'm always impressed when I hear their stuff. I loved Lateralis, and the new one... (Vicarious? something like that) is rather excellent too.

actually, Billy Howerdell came up with a perfect circle...he showed it to Maynard when they were working in the studio together, and Maynard liked the stuff BH had written, and asked to sing... it wasn't his band.

Edit: i too like aperfectcircle, though tool are far far far far far superior

Bump

It's out and it's exactly waht I expected/wanted. Pretty much the same with a slight twist to keep it fresh. Huzzah.

also, I'm digging the completely wierd 3D stereoscopic packaging.

New cd = Amazing

But I've always been a find. It's noting compared to their older work, but definately a great buy.
