Speed Challenge 11 - Old School

Postby RawMeat3000 on Sat Mar 07, 2009 10:53 am

Ahh, it feels good have these challenges back. This time round the theme is Old School. In other words, model something that has been made obsolete by new technology. Now I'd like to keep this within the last 50 years or so, so we don't just go modeling anything, like a sword or cart. So ham radios, Amiga consoles, various military hardware, etc. is all allowed.

Remember to post wireframes, a render (optional, but recommended), polygon count, and time spent modeling. Target time is two hours.

Amiga never goes obsolete, wtf! :)

I think my previous entry, Amiga computer, would fit better in here...than it did for the toy theme. When is the deadline for entries?

Good have these challenges back. Have fun everyone!

Guess I should have specified the deadline. Actually it's pretty much any time up until I make a poll, but try to get it in before some time early Monday morning, GMT.

Ooh!

Ham radio!

And Ham Radio isn't outdated; in fact, it's the only means of communications during emergencies the majority of the time.

I'm not much of a modeler, (trying to become one), but I have hung around these threads.

If I recall, I remember one entry to a challenge timing in at 2:56 or something, and everyone was fine.

So you should be OK.

Models cannot be textured at all. This goes for materials in your modeling package, so no procedural rocks, metal, etc. Just use one material and that's it.

mky, that's Monday morning GMT, which means if you live in the US, Sunday night.

You guys want to use the speed challenges in the design section for this?
Drop me a line if you want to.
EDIT: o crap, apparently I don't have admin rights for that subsection.. Can be arranged I guess.
