episode 1 citadel core

Postby Sentura on Tue Jan 18, 2011 6:00 pm

so i've been trying to recreate a sphere like the citadel core, but it's never going to be what i want it to be. i've been trying to find any info on how they did it in ep1 (i am assuming particle effects or something similar, but even then i'm at a loss. so, does anyone know how this effect was achieved? yes i'm talking about the big ball itself.

I didn't understand why the texture of the core gets stretched, if the core isn't on that specific point.... Does it have something to do with env maps?

If i remember correctly the core is at 0 0 0 cordinates in episode 1 too, no idea why it wont work otherwise. I had the same problem long ago when i made this.
