Breakfloor!

I recently started work on the following multiplayer mod:


(Sorry for the shocking video quality)
Players compete to collect pick-ups in an increasingly harder to navigate, randomly de-generating world.
(Players grab stuff as the floor destroys its-self)

Current features
-3 basic dev maps
-1 weapon

Planned features
-More weapons / powerups
-A classic breakfloor game mode and maps to go with it
-Custom models for pick-ups and boxes
-Custom weapon models and sounds
-Proper title screen
-Bot pathing

I am not looking to recruit team-members at this moment
I wouldn't be about to devote enough time to the project until summer which wouldn't be fair on anyone wanting to help.
However, at that point I will be needing someone(s) to make models and textures.

An interesting concept. However, I don't see the need for even the gravity gun if there is no purpose in it being carried. Some thing that would be a neat substitute would be hud animations for the player as he jumps you could get some arm motion in there for a better feel of running.

Running animations along with jumping would really free it up a lot more imo. That is of course if you had some one to work on it with you, and if you wanted it to go that direction.

The gravity gun model is simply a place holder for the destabilizer weapon (when fired, turns the selected block into an unstable block: one that falls when stepped on. This get pretty useful against other players in long games). I'm no modeller.

You're definitely a coder though goddamn. Nice work on making something other than a map pack.

I like this idea :) Make a map where you play inbetween 2 highrise buildings

Thank you very much! I've never had any real programming education. I started modding a few years back and taught myself as I went along.

I was thinking the exact same thing about the highrise buildings! Unfortunately, I still have a lot of coding to do before I can start worrying about how the maps look though :(
