Opposing Force 2 Trailer

The guys on the Opposing Force 2 team have just released a trailer for your viewing pleasure, showing off some of their ingame environments and a small amount of gameplay.

Indeed, it looks quite good. I thought some of the textures hurt the mood of certain scenes, but the rest seems great.

That fancy video doesn't hide some mediocre level design. That super-slow MP5 reload puts me off also.

A few of the environments looked pretty cool(the forest), but some were kinda bland(the hallways and stuff). But my biggest gripe would be about the MP5 also, but not the reload, but the recoil. It looked like an airsoft gun firing.

My thoughts exactly. It seemed to be aping the Black Mesa Source video, but with far lower quality content.

I second (third?) Mess' and ad's opinions. The video seemed identical to the BMS teaser, but with lower quality work.

It looks solid, which is quite an accomplishment for a SP mod, so that is good. I think it'll be just fine. Nothing groundbreaking or super-duper but just solid level design "by books" with a nice SP experience.

I mean don't get me wrong, some looks good, but in NO way does it even closely feel like Opposing Force. It just looks like an Episode 2 mod. If I were to make an OP2 mod, I'd start it RIGHT off after the first, escaping from Black Mesa and stuff.

Meh, this just looks way too mediocre to be classified as OP2, it'd be better off just as a rebel story.

I agree. I do see some Black Mesa stuff in there, but they're just MP maps.

It didnt get me particularly excited... saw no relevance to OpFor and instead was confused by the varying landscapes and mediocre mapping :S Nothing like the finesse of other high profile mods and i agree thats its links to the oringinal are few and far between...

It's okay, but I quite frankly couldn't care less. The trailer screams 'look at me! I'm another BM:S!' and fails miserably. You've got overdone panning, some out of place tribal war music, and a bunch of maps that are mediocre at best. Seriously, on my first watching the first thing that stood out in particular was the computer/machinery on top of a bloodstain. Not to mention the MP5's animations are horrible and the teaser reveals nothing about the mod.

I have to admit though, the mountain vista was kind of pretty even if it looked a bit repetitive.

Yeah I have to say it is not overly impresive. The into of it was really nice and I like the way it was shot as far a speeding up and flying though the maps, but like Panther aid, it did not reveal anything about the mod itself. I would have had far more epic images in the "teaser" to really entice people, but thats me...

You know, It was just okay. I love the fact that there is a new weapon, and the forest area was cool. When is this mod coming out?

I really like what they did with the camera... The video is awesome (talking about the video edition..) too sad I can't say the same for the mod itself... I find no relation with OP....

Anyway, let's give 'em a chance... Release date: 2010... Let's wait.. XD
